(1) Perched in an "era-appropriate" plastic box, this sterling/marcasite/green-who-knows-what-stone ring is a dazzler! I suspect it was made in Germany, it has that quality about it.

Sorry, Alice scarfed the marcasite ring right up! SOLD!!

(2) And for The Gentleman, nothing less than diamonds, black onyx and PLATINUM will do, n'est-ce pas?

(3) This Moderne cigarette box could also carry your cash.... 4 1/2 by about 3 1/2 inches....it's curved for comfort. It has the chic look of lacquer by Jean Dunand, non?

(4) Exquisitely carved and dyed ivory from Japan, the pin is about 3 inches long.

(10) I do believe that the mock ancient coin hosts Alexander the Great, and the heavy silver chain is original to the piece. It's by Scheibler.

(11) Brutally handsome, that griffin atop Alexander! It's a pin, also by Scheibler; about an inch in diameter.

(12) Upon this we could speculate for a long time... All sterling,

(13) No leather jacket is complete without one.

(16) This Art Nouveau sterling pin is marked "sterling front" for our edification. It's a couple of inches across, with a lovely patina. English?

(17) Beau is beautiful, too. A sterling Modernist elephant could make your day; it's about an inch across the bottom.

(18) Bakelite honeycomb beaded necklace,

(22) And speaking of ring trays... the French would call it a vide-poche, "empty-pocket." By the master designer Edgar Brandt, signed in the upper left corner. The loss of some of the original silver patina only accentuates its antique look. It's about 6 1/4 inches long.

(23) I've always had a soft spot for these collapsible rulers, turn-of-the-century vintage. No home can function without one.

(45) This shagreen compact/lipstick ensemble is in excellent condition, with no significant damage to the shark's skin, which is light green in color. The compact measures 2 inches in diameter and about 3/4 inch deep, and is covered with shagreen on the bottom as well as sides and top. The metal appears to be brass, with a gold wash on the interior of the compact. The mirror is beveled.
