Yes, it's September 2002 and your
Jacques, he eees een France...
(Well, he was in France,
and now he's back in San Francisco, and the container has arrived,
and everything you see here is available!)
Here's a new twist... pictures
of items as I'm purchasing them in France... kind of like
walking into the boulangerie just as they're putting out
the fresh, warm croissants...
|
|
A meter and a half wide console
from the 40's, with its original faux finish. The marble which
sits on top is in the next picture...
|
 |
Dated 1945, by G. Moullade. With
the painting came a brochure from the Paris auction house of
Drouot.

Aww... Jack's gone soft, got hit
by a "cute attack" in France. No, this has nothing
to do with Art Deco, but I couldn't resist. It seems to have
to do with a struggle of sorts, and is that little item under
the foot perchance a heart? The terra cotta statue is about 17
inches tall...

I couldn't pass up this set of
four double sconces, the shades appear to be in the style of
Italian glass, and are impossibly cute.
|
|
|
A set of four gorgeous sconces
with the pine-cone motif, with silvered mounts, about 12 inches
tall.
|
Silvered brass, a graceful arch,
handsomely decorated, this double-light table lamp is only the
third such item I've found in over a dozen years of buying in
France. The shades are Muller.
Sorry, this table lamp is already
sold!
|
Wow! I happen to have six small
Schneider shades for these glorious table lamps, nickled bronze.
|
About 10 inches tall, signed Genet
& Michon.
|
|
|
|
I like the simplicity of the Moderne
stlying of this piece...
|
Now this is a beautiful
wrought iron lamp. The pressed glasss shade is adorned with butterflies.
