(A) I've got a set of four (only
one shown) of these classically-shaped sconces with the pine-cone
motif, with silvered mounts, about 12 inches tall. $2100 each
pair. (e-mail

(B) Two of these geometric wonders
just tumbled into my greedy hands. They're nickel-plated brass
and in their original finish, which is a near-miracle, and about
13 inches high, four wide (at the widest point of the shade,
the metal is only 2 3/4 wide) and they project 8 inches.
Ol' "geometric wonders"
are spoken for by KEVIN! SOLD!!

(C) A sweet pair of diminutive
(they're about 10 inches long) Modernist sconces...
"Sweet Moderne" are
alive and well at Helene's in NYC... SOLD!!
|
(D) Fresh off the boat and out
of the container, these Modernist French sconces "say it
all!" They're made of solid brass, and the condition of
the chrome plating is excellent. That's a chromed tube standing
vertically in the center. These measure 13 wide, 10 high, and
the original chrome finish is in excellent condition! What a
woeful picture! Ask and I'll send you a better one (how could
I miss?). $1600 the pair. (e-mail

(E) A most handsome and extremely
rare pair of signed Degue sconces, which measure about 12 high
by 5 1/2 wide. The mounts are plated in their original nickel
finish. $1900 the pair. (e-mail

(F) What a cute little pair of
Modernist sconces from La Belle France! The swivels between the
arm and the shade give them an excellent versatility. The chrome's
in super condition. The shade opening measures about five inches.
There are several holes in the tiny backplates, that's
how they affix to the wall. They project 9 inches from the wall,
and the diameter of the shade is 4 1/2 inches. $950 the pair.

(G) These glass rod sconces are
undoubtedly by Petitot, in fact I've seen another identical pair
attributed to the great designer. They're about a foot tall,
in near-mint condition, with their original two-tone copper patina.
$1400 the pair. (e-mail

(H) If memory serves me correctly
(ha-ha), I have about four of these... forties vintage, very
bold and powerful design... luminous opalescent shades! They're
freshly nickle-plated, solid brass. $1900 the pair. (e-mail
Jack to start the conversation)

Or, perhaps you prefer these "icicle"
shades, wonderfully opalescent and deep, to hid the bulb in its
entirety. The metal, shown here in brass, can redone in polished
or brushed nickel, or chrome. $1700 the pair. (e-mail

(I) I've got four of these super
high quality, heavy solid brass French sconces with opalescent
shades from the late 30's or so. I've already plated two in nickel,
as you see it here -- what beauties! The shade is over eight
inches in diameter, with rich colors including fiery golds in
the thicker parts of the glass when the light is on. This sconce
comes out about 11 inches from the wall, and is about 7 inches
top-to-bottom. $1900 the pair. (e-mail

(J) Just acquired, a full set of
SIX French wrought iron sconces with very pleasing design elements
such as the wonderful twist on the bottom of the candle-holder.
These project eight inches and are about three inches wide. The
height, with the candle as shown (it could be cut down some,
and/or a narrower candle could be employed), is about 11 inches.
Obviously you'd have the choice of using a bare flame-type bulb
or a clamp-on shade. In any case these are particularly fetching,
with a good deep brown patina! $1200 the set of six. (e-mail
