Hand-blown opalescent, lightly ribbed shades resembling flowers adorn these two solid brass, elegantly designed French fixtures from around 1910. The length is about 25 inches, the width 26.

The shades have a cloudy blue color as well as a fiery, opalescent warmth. One shade has a three-inch crack but I don't see that posing any problem with careful handling. The beauty of the opalescent glass isn't well reflected in these photos, which make them appear significantly brighter and washed out than is the case!
