(A) I like a challenge, but please!!!
I mean, try photographing this and you'll see what I mean.
The bowl is hand-blown Steuben calcite, with an iridescent finish,
so subtle it looks like a pearl. Alas, on top of that, when the
light is on the glass transforms to a creamy gold color. Oh,
I almost forgot about the classic acid-etched finish which you
can barely see in these photos. All in all, it's worth a trip
to the store, especially if you're considering buying this, which
you should! It's of ample size, about 32 long and 17 across as
shown (with freshly replated brushed nickel hardware from the
same period, 1910 or so, and frankly hardware from that period
gets no better). $4300. (e-mail
Jack to start the conversation)

(B) I'm not entirely sure what
this bowl's made of... either wood with a patinated jesso finish,
or perhaps it's cast plaster or terra cotta. Whatever it is,
it's quite heavy and substantial and the finish is positively
complex and regal, with golds and reddish browns. It measures
37 inches long (obviously any amount of chain can be removed)
and the bowl is about 17 in diameter. It's got three original
sockets inside the bowl, which will provide an abundance of ambient
light in the room.
Oh-oh, you waited, again...
and now it's SOLD!!!!
