Here are a few pictures which I took on the spot, in France, when I purchased this dining set which now resides here in San Francisco. I'm calling it "Art Moderne" because it's unornamented and severe in style. The large buffet is marble-topped and massively heavy and well-built, in the standard French tradition. I believe the veneer on the front is rosewood, but would you expect Mr. Metal Expert to be Mr. Wood Expert?! At any rate, it's an exotic hardwood with lots of panache! This piece is about 75 inches wide. Here's a close-up of the dramatic marble top:
Well now doesn't this make a nicer photo, the sideboard all tricked out with a few tasty morsels from Decorum?! This gives you a better idea of how positively knock-out it would appear in your own home! Next we have "le dessert," a combination display and storage unit. Can't you just imagine les gateaux behind the sliding glass doors? No? Perhaps your Lalique collection? Your Chase collection? This piece measures about 48 wide, 40 high , and 15 deep. The marble top is as festive as that on the larger buffet. Sorry, Rob nailed both the sideboard AND the dessert!! SOLD!!
The dessert is... SOLD!!
The table measures about 55 by 41, 29 high, which is very comfortable for four, a bit cozy for six. Then again, we like cozy!
The six chairs have their original leather upholstery (mostly) intact, and they're comfortable.
This photo of the tabletop gives you an idea of the lustre and beauty of the wood!
One of the six chairs, in all its Moderne simplicity!

WHAT a killer set this was! Or, might I say, IS, somewhere, in its "repurposing," being enjoyed by the smarty-pants who bought it! SOLD!!
