A presse papier (paperweight)
sporting a World War One bomb, the base of chromed iron and the
bomb of chromed brass, signed E. Brandt, France's foremost ferronier,
and one of the most famous French artists of the Art Deco
period, who also collaborated with the likes of Daum and Lalique.
It measures 4 3/4 long by 1 7/8 wide, about 1 7/8 high.

Each set of two fins is constructed
from a single piece of chrome-plated brass. There appears to
have been a fourth set of two fins on the top, now missing.
|
A closer look at the space on top
where the missing fins would have been, and the signature. The
condition of the chrome is very excellent overall, with tiny
age-appropriate nicks over much of the surface.

Heavy enough to keep the nastiest
pile of papers in place, just under three pounds!
