This handsome little gueridon
measures about 27 inches across. The wood is supple and smooth...
|
Another gueridon, this stately
model being about four feet across, and with a sliced-pie configuration
in the veneer on top.
|
An extraordinarily unusual Moderne
design, wood and chromed metal. It's ample, being about five
feet across!
|
Marked Barbedienne (the Paris foundry),
this probably 1890's bronze is just a jewel. Complete with "it,"
not your everyday find!
|
Ah, Dear Diana, tell us, is it
time to buy? (I forgot to photograph the two garnitures
which accompany her majesty... splendid glass and marble affairs
for either side.)
|
|
|
Can you read the signature on the
upper left? Hint: the last name begins with a "B" and
ends with a "T." This is probably my best find in years,
and you're going to have to pay off my mortgage to get it out
of my hands... It was sold to me as a cendrier (ashtray),
but I prefer to think of it as a vide-poche.

Speaking of the great iron master,
this might have been done by one of any his serious admirers.
The better news: I have a pair!
|
Four of these sconces. Think how
great they'll look when the metal has Jack's famous brushed nickel
finish on it...

Madame takes zee doggie out for

"Which way did that babe with
the woofer go?"
|
Over two feet wide, signed Fayral.
Now we both know that Art Deco figures don't get any better than
this, don't we? Of course opinions are opinions, but I'll take
this as quickly as a Preiss, and have change left over for a
dozen donuts.
|
Entirely serviceable, wouldn't
you say?
|
|
This smallish vase is signed Delavan,
a premier etain craftsman.
|
|
Sorry, show-stopper time! Opalescent
glass rods, mind you!!!
|
Ah... the world getting you down,
weighing a little heavily on you? Pas de probleme, just
light up and dump your ashes here (the tops swing out). Macassar
ebony, 'natch. SORRY, it's SOLD!!

Now would a trip to France be complete
without a meaningful addition to the Nouveau collection? This
very tall beauty is signed Marionnette.
